Passport
You need a passport to go to England. If you have a current passport in your current legal name, make sure it does not expire within 6 months after the trip or else it must be renewed. Apply for your passport at least 6 months in advance of the trip. To obtain a passport for the first time, you must apply in person (most post offices and some public libraries accept passport applications), and there is a fee. For information on how to obtain a new passport, or renew an existing passport, go to: http://travel.state.gov/passport/passport_1738.html Starting 2024- the UK will require an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA)- (more information coming soon). |
Health and Safety
The United Kingdom recommends that all visitors should have the following vaccinations: Hepatitis A & B and Influenza Most airlines no longer require a negative COVID-19 test to travel. This could change. London is mostly safe. The same precautions should be taken as you would here in America. Pick-pocketing and petty theft can happen in tourist areas. Take precautions to avoid losing important and valuable items. See the link below for more Info: https://www.passporthealthusa.com/destination-advice/united-kingdom/#safe |
MoveScholarships
The International Programs Office (IPO) offers a limited number of first come, first served scholarships of $1000. Students are automatically eligible for the scholarship when they apply. Applying early is the best strategy for receiving IPO support. The College of Education, Health and Human Sciences has made funds available from the Elena Sliepcevich Endowed Fund for Community Health Education Priority is given for Movement Sciences students but all encouraged to apply. The Movement Science Department has supported students through the Student Success Fund. Other colleges, departments, and organizations on campus support education abroad. Reach out to your advisor and program leaders. We also recommend students fund raise by asking family, friends, and community organizations, faith communities, and others for support for this worthwhile journey. |
